There's plenty of real ale on sale in bottles at the back as well as 3 for £5 offers and they generally have 2 on tap; if they have less it's because it has been sold out. If you want more then go down the pub.Tonbridge Ladynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5008739840732779226.post-21641032714505754752009-06-24T20:16:27.851+01:002009-06-24T20:16:27.851+01:00So, you've sussed me out Tonbridge Blogger, I ...So, you've sussed me out Tonbridge Blogger, I am the very same person who used to run the Cask & Glass! As you point out, I sold the business, just under two and a half years ago now, after I was offered a position back in my old field of Quality Control.

I don't regret the move; I have a lot more free time now and have been able to travel and go away on holiday - something that was extremely difficult when you're operating a business that has to be open 7 days a week! I have just about cleared the backlog of jobs, both in the house and in the garden, that bult up over the five and a half years that I was running the shop. In short I have got my life back!

Having said that I don't regret the time my wife and I spent running the Cask & Glass. We met some really nice people, and I still often bump into former customers whilst out and about in the town. I also learned a lot about the licensed trade, and this coupled with my love of good beer made for the perfect job - or it would have been if the hours hadn't been so long!

On the blogging side, I have been hosting my own Blog site since last November, but as it is primarily about beer there's no need for Tonbridge Blogger to think he's got competition. I will continue to post the odd comment on the Tonbridge Blog whenever something of interest catches my eye.

In answer to your question about advertising TB. I don't think it compromises the independence of one's site, as the ads themselves are chosen and posted by Google. I haven't earned much, if anything, yet from the adverts on my site - I'm still waiting for that big fat cheque to come falling through my door! I'm sure you know that the system works by paying you for the number of times people click on the ads. A word of warning though; Google can tell if you are clicking on your own ads and take a pretty dim view of it, so don't be tempted.

ps. keep up the good work.Paul Baileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09678639237696546268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5008739840732779226.post-91600811258954833092009-06-24T16:41:15.320+01:002009-06-24T16:41:15.320+01:00A big blue advertising banner is hovering over you...A big blue advertising banner is hovering over your blog blocking out all the copy. They hardly sell any real ale now mainly milk, bread and grocerys. Did you do that through Adsense on Google? If so I wouldn't mind a word about how you set that up. Does it ruin the site or enhance it? Is it the top of the slippery slope to a none independent blog? Perhaps more importantly do you earn much from it??Tonbridge bloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13242621868186419096noreply@blogger.com
