Spooky that Tonbridge Castle at night isn't it? I often wonder as I quickly walk by after dark what horrors those old walls have witnessed. I'm almost certain the other night I heard the clanking chains from deep down in the dungeons of the gate house, a cry of pain and the cracking of bones and was that screaming from soldiers as boiling oil was poured over them? Surely not all of this was in my imagination! Neyaa ha ha haaa (evil laugh)

You're almost a month too early for Halloween, TB. Either that or you've been over-indulging on the local ales!!
ps. Yet again that wretched Captcha gadget has told me that what I've typed didn't match the words shown. Get rid of it!!!
For the benefit of those middle aged readers who either need new glasses or else have been on the Hoegarten again I have hopely lifted the wretched captcha thing majig....
Thank-you, TB. I can put off a visit to the opticians now!
Talking of beer. Tomorrow night (thursday) Mr Geoff Rishman, the famous chemist and brewer, is giving an illustrated talk about beer at the Langley Hotel about 7.30/45ish. I went to one of these some years ago. It was facinating. Mr Rishman really knows his stuff about the history, culture and making of different types of beers.
Oh, I forgot to mention - with tastings.
Could be your last chance to visit the Langley Hotel before they turn it inti a nursing home. Planning just applied for.
North Tonbridge is rapidly evolving into a complete beer desert. Soon there will be nowhere to get a drink in that part of the town apart from the Hilden Manor!
Really such a nice and wonderful information.

Since lifting the captcha I've had a plague of spam posts. They really are an infestation of the blogoshpere. May have to bring it back if this continues. For now I've stopped annymous comments again to see if it works. The captcha may be anoying but it has to be preferble to getting infested with spam surely?...
There is nothing particularly interesting being posted anyway, so I shouldn't worry too much. For my part, if you bring back that thing, I won't bother in future. It really isn't worth the hassle.
Don't know about anything interesting; it seems that nothing is being posted at all. What does this say about Tonbridge???
ps. Never had much trouble with spam posts on my blog, so no need for the Captcha.
I think that sums up Tonbridge rather well....
