Photos of Tonbridge....

I've bought myself a new camera so watch this space for quirky snaps of Tonbridge street scenes. In the meantime here's an old one....

I think I'll stand in the same spot as the original photographer, and take a picture. Using the roof of the chequers as a guide, it should be possible to take exactly the same angle and scale, just to compare them. There's a traffic island there isn't there?
Incidentally, it seems a bit early for double yellow lines, what are the double lines running parallel to the kerb on the the left?

It's ok, I've figured it out: it's a drainage channel.

Haven't you heard. Twitter and snapchat is where it's at!

Yes Tim there is even more Tonbridge news in The Times of Tonbridge and that's saying something. Did you see the one about a lady being fined for parking in the new loading bay outside of Mcdonalds? She thought it meant she could load up with big macs.
Twitter seems to be for people advertising, complaining or for private chat.

I actually saw a car ticketed yesterday for parking in one of the 'loading' bays - about time really... The highstreet looks nice but still struggling to see where to £2.6M went. Maybe dividends will show eventually but telling at present that all the new openings seem to be to the north of the big bridge... And, as for updates here, it is a little thing on the ground... I tend to check in on facebook or twitter now to keep abreast on what is going on....

Get your new camera out and take us some pics of the nice new tarmac the electricity company has decided is better than the nice new red brick pavement. near the small bridge I believe.

oh dear - been digging it up already? You couldn't make it up... I thought part of the delay in completing the work was so that all the cabling could be channeled correctly with proper access points (manholes) so this wouldn't happen.... Oh well, it is TMBC....

Oh, and any more news on old B&Q/homebase sites? Can see the halfords/ M&S food is underway and maccy D's site is now being cleared but not mush movement elsewhere...

Pavements and Roads are down to KCC not TMBC. Just hope that KCC insists that the contractor does a proper reinstatement. I still think that the High Street changes are a nightmare for the visually impaired and anyone that needs time to cross the road now that the crossing has been removed. Somebody tell those motorcyclists that the speed limit is 20 mph not 50.

Glad to see that they have reinstated the hanging baskets, but what happened to the tree we were promised, to replace the one they chopped down near Waitrose?

Well its been almost a month since you promised some quirky photos with your new camera. Are you still trying to fathom out the F stops and ISO settings? Put it on auto everything and show us what you can do.

What inspiring sun sets we have had in Tonbridge over the last few days. Now if I had a half decent camera instead of my grey market Bluboo Xtouch smart phone I would be out there snapping away.

searching for inspiration must be hard work....
