It's here, it's back and I can't wait. The SIBA Beer Festival starts tonight and goes on till Sunday. So if real ales and ciders is your bag then I suggest you pay them a visit. Where else can you find a hundred or more different locally produced beers and ciders in one place. PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY on all three days again and again! Food also available. All they need is to provide beds and you could spend the whole weekend there.... There's more

If SIBA is in town we can expect a very wet weekend. I am not sure if the local pubs that are struggling for trade will support you enthusiasm for this event.
Perhpas the local pubs should look to stocking some of the many superbly crafted, locally produced ales which SIBA members produce, rather than the mass-produced, international swill which most of them stock!
I'm with PB on this one. The local pubs should take a leaf out of the SIBA organiser's book and start selling some well crafted local beers and ciders. There are a few examples such as the P&J, George and Dragon stocking that lovely Coppernob by Tonbridge Brewery but, apart from that, only Wetherspoons lay on any like a decent selection of ales and not too many of them are local ones in my experience. Is it time to put pressure on the breweries to allow pubs to sell a range of beers worth drinking instead of putting more pressure in the tap to produce a presentable head on a beer which tastes like piss?...
well, apart from P&J, westerspoons and the George and Dragon are there really any pubs in the town that are worth visiting nowadays?
Oh, and once girls are picked up from dance I'll be heading down to the festival - looking forward to it!
