Bring the Tonbridge market back home....

I'm not kidding but at least two people poke their heads in my door virtually every Saturday to ask where the market is now. It happened again just a few minutes ago. "Excuse me..." said a polite oldish lady "There used to be a market here on a Saturday, when did that stop then?..." "Oh only about seven years ago!" is my usual reply. It just goes to show that this part of Tonbridge is still the area where folk expect a market to be. After all, apart from the last seven or eight years, there's been one here for at least a thousand years. Now that would seem to me to be a tradition worth upholding....

Is "the dynamic nature" an advertising bot that repeats a bit of text then posts a link to products.

And bring back the Angel Cricket ground!

At least Mr Books will soon be the only independant book seller in the village.

Perhaps there could be a campaign to get all the old village markets back. Many towns and villages across Kent used to have them but they've disappeared over time, would be great if just a few of the bigger ones returned - they offer great value; environmental benefits and help local businesses.

I'm too young to remember the old market, but the Tunbridge Wells farmers market would be a great example to follow. A few fruit and veg stalls, a couple of cooked food stalls, baker, fishmonger, etc. All right outside the council offices and train station. How difficult can it be?
