Bag off Bartram!...

Drivers in Tonbridge have the increasing number of chasis-breaking pot holes to contend with; now pedestrians have John Bartram and his bags to put up with. Don't worry Mr. Bartram we'll all side step your granny trollies if it helps you sell a few more bags and stuff. We retailers know how hard times are at the moment. Mr. Bartram, owner of the shop Allsorts of Golliwog Dolls on Tonbridge High Street, was unavailable for comment....

Well those dreary railings are pretty ugly. I'm not surprised they started putting them there. We ought to have a campaign to make Tonbridge High Street pretty. Most of the High Street is a right skanky eyesore. We can start by putting up some cherry blossom trees.

I dislike that marketplace look intensely. An even worse culprit is the shoe shop opposite who insist in dangling their handbag display in the middle of the Angel Walk passageway. A mother with a buggy, wheelchair user or simply a shopper carrying bags has to negotiate the corner with little room to pass in approaching from the northside. It has amazed me that the shop haven't been warned to clear the passageway. Come on you Council snoopers where are you and where have you been - get rid of that clutter.

Yes, there doesn't seem to be much colour other than the odd hanging baskets and flower beds.

Re the cherry trees, we do need more colour, warmth and greenery in this town. Even the sportsground could so with some colour. It's a great picnic area. Let's stir the cobwebs of Civic Society into some action.

Wonder if they read this? Maybe not as maybe they don't have computers.
