Cheaper meals at the Ivy....

TonbridgeBlog has noticed that the Ivy House Dining Room and Bar (quality restaurant but casual) has had to set its sights a little lower. It now has a large board out front enticing the affluent ABC1's of Tonbridge to try its new £9.50 lunch and diner set menu. Has anyone tried it yet? Are they served on tiny plates or do you get a sizeable portion. I might wait for the £5.50 menu and then give it a try!...

Well, it was bound to happen - we are all fed-up being taken for a ride. I never eat out now as it's all far too expensive. I'll be interested in knowing the feed back on this one as I doubt if I will go there and I actually don't intend to. Looking forward to a nice slap up meal at The Chaser though on my birthday.

Delia was the pun intended?

I've been, food was very good and it's been well done out. Full of old bids (have noticed every pub in the county is full of old bids at lunchtime these days) taking advantage of the £9.50 set menu - bit limited, soup, burger, pasta, salad and that was it. Fish and chips(Jenga blocks) (£12) are excellent. The Hopback Summer Lightning ale was a bit odd though, super chilled it tasted like Fosters cooking lager, can't be right can it? They could do with more staff too, one poor fella doing everything.

No the pun wasn't intended but was probably 'subliminal' - :)

People should save their money and spend it on books instead!...
