Home Town....
"Well I never thought I'd still be hanging around my home town." They're talking about Tonbridge of course so it's not all positive but, nevertheless, a great song by local band, The Good Ship Band. Front man, Jez Harley, is a barber in his spare time at Retro Blue but I'm sure would rather be on tour with the band. Maybe if he spent more time away from Tonbridge he'd appreciate it more (just a thought.) The band mixes a sort of folky, bluesy, rocky type sound with some gritty lyrics, or at least that's the impression I get having listened to them on YouTube for all of three minutes. Have a listen and then go to one of their gigs if you get the chance....

I love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A song about Tonbridge!!!! Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
Hey! I love this band! Saw them at The 100 Club in London. These guys are gonna be huge!
Watch the video!!!!It's brilliant! The se guys are fab!!!!
I think you are wrong about the song......I interpreted it differently - that he was going through a difficult time in his life but that he loves his Tonbridge! And in the words of the man himself 'put that in your diary and smoke it!'
ThPlease can The Good Ship Band do more gigs in Tonbridge?
Actually saw these guys in a pub in Tunbridge Wells. They were really good, have been meaning to buy a CD.
Talked to some bloke there, said they went to the same schol as Keane!
I went to see this band play at the 100 Club in Oxford Street and can confirm that these guys really got the crowd going!! A very entertaining night!
Great song! How are these guys not signed?! Way better than Keane.
Definitely go to one of their gigs, they're incredible! Jez has the stage presence of someone you'd expect to make the Glastonbury line up and their songs are a great mix of thought-provoking lyrics and upbeat melodies. I found their tunes were firmly lodged in my head after the gig. These guys deserve to make it big time!
I love this song but you all should listen to his others aswell. . . all great stuff. I have the pleasure of knowing Jez as a friend and working with him in Retro Blue, he is an amazing musician as well as a great barber. Check out his Home Town video on you tube. I fully support the Good ship Band. Go Jez and the boys well done. love you x
I throw my thong at the Good Ship Band !x
