You asked for posts so here is one! So tonight (thurs) we have another accident on the A21 between Tonbridge and and the North Farm roundabout. Last week there was a death on the same stretch and there have been a few more accidents in the last few weeks. I just wonder if its anything to do with the extra 900 staff and increased patient traffic going to the new hospital. Of course a lot of them will not be comming to Tonbridge but the roundabout itself will have an increase. At the time that planning permission was granted for the hospital plans to dual the A21 were in place but now it looks like a better location could have been found. Planning permission was also granted with the condition that 4 buses an hour seven days a week would run to Tonbridge and other buses would serve other parts of west Kent. The hospital trust is now trying to wriggle out of this and has applied to Tun Wells council to get this condition ammended. In the mean time 6 weeks after it has opened, there are 2 buses an hour from Tonbridge. They leave Tonbridge station one minute apart and return 8 minutes apart. Not exactly a service to encourage people to leave the car at home. So come on Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone hospital trust and get it sorted pronto.
ASDA !! christ no, say it aint true !!! I saw an advert for a general manager of the new cafe/fine foods place that is opening up soon. At last, Tonbridge really needs something like that to complement the excellent farmers market
Anno 6.46 whats up with your grapevine? Is it keeping you out of the loop? The news about the new Asda at North Farm even reached the local rag on the 21st October and local radio. The ASDA spokes person said that since the car park was the same size as the existing Wickes one traffic would not be an addition problem and in anycase their customers and staff can use the good bus and train services.

And just wait till the new ASDA is opened.I for one will be staying far away from the madness.
And another thing... what about all those broken street lights in Tonbridge High Street. I counted at least 9.
