Mor on Courier....

Speaking of cheap journalism I noticed that the Courier photographer was snapping away at the Guy Portelli talk in Cafe Nero on Friday evening. They haven't been at most of the events which, being honest, have been far more spectacular than listening to Mr. Portelli, great sculptor though he undoubtedly is, go on about his experience on Dragon's Den yet again. Even he must be bored of the sound of his own voice on that one it has to be said. So to see them going for the easy TV related story once again actually made me feel a little queasy. Still I guess it's better to have some publicity for the arts festival rather than none....

The Courier reporters are actually rubbish. The coverage of the Arts Festival non existent. Considering the work and effort the town of Tonbridge and its people have injected into the event it's a poor show by the TONBRIDGE reporters on The Courier. Well if there are any - or even if there may be one, is there one, does anybody know of one - they are probably some fresh faced, incipid 2.1 degree types who really haven't a clue and don't live in the town. For the Tonbridge edition to have such a negative headline and poor story at the time the town has done something innovative and fresh is unforgiveable, and reflective of the quality of the journalism which actually isn't journalism. Oh yes and the Portelli link - it is the link to 'celebrity' that interests the Courier. Once again cheap and lazy journalism. Good for Guy to give a talk but his slightly successful art and very loose link to tv is not all Tonbridge has to offer. There were many residents involved in the festival who have far more interesting backgrounds in the theatre, tv and the art world. And if that's all the Courier are searching for they have even failed at this, and just haven't done their job and dug deep enough, and to be honest what about the new talent and the community spirit of the residents. POOR SHOW COURIER. BAD MOVE COURIER. GET OUT COURIER YOUR ATTITUDE STINKS.
