Modernist meets Medieval!...

As promised here is a pic of the new possibly £squillion+ extention of the Castle. Well it was a little too 1980s in that Tourist Information Centre so you can understand why the Council felt the need to squander, sorry wisely spend, the budget can't you! It's sort of modernist meets medieval if that's possible. What do you all reckon?...

Not too sure yet. I would have to make a trip over there to see it.

I rather like modern architecture as long as it compliments the old, and sometimes it is done magnificently. i.e Norman Foster British Museum - but I am sure this is no Norman Foster.

Budget is a separate issue and I won't even attempt that here.

I shall go along and have a look. Thanks for posting

Saw it today and don't like it. It's wasted in that area and tucked away unseen. Maybe that's good not to be seen but why did they even bother. It was ok before they changed it. Or wasn't it?

I think it looks horrible, bit like a gsrden shed. It's totally out of touch with its historic surroundings.
