Christmas Tree at the Watergate |
The Christmas lights look especially pretty down the High Street this year don't they what with all the snow around? The white stuff may create havoc on the roads and pavements but you do have to admit that it improves the look of just about everywhere....

I have to agree that the lights, which I saw lit up for the first time last Friday, do look particularly good. It may have had something to do with the Greene King Abbot Reserve (6.5% abv) I sampled in Wetherspoons, but when I came out of that establishment, and began my walk home down the High Street, even a hardened old cynic like myself beagn to feel a little festive.
The snow may well have helped enhance the lights, but well done to all concerned!
