Freedom Parade in Tonbridge....

Tonbridge High Street came alive about 2pm

Drums beating, colours flying

Bayonets fixed

Crowds gather at the Big Bridge for speeches and music

Fabulous day at the Freedom Parade. Real patriotic stuff. It just shows you that we, as a town, seem to still be proud of our soldiers, perhaps more than ever. At least everyone there today seemed to recognise the sacrifice that these boys and others like them are making on our behalf. It actually did make me feel really proud watching them. They are, after all, the most decorated regiment in the history of the British Army. Even an old cynic like me had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up. Here's some pictures from the day....
Marching back up the High Street
Maybe in a few years lads!

I have the pleasure to record this event with colleagues and an edited version is available on DVD.

This version covers from Tonbridge School to Big Bridge and return to Big Bridge plus events on the Castle Lawn.
