My Tonbridge memories (send in your own)....

Tonbridge blog requested some memories and stories from days spent in Tonbridge; today we received this lovely posting from a chap 12,000 miles away (ah, the wonders of the blogsphere!) Does this bring back any memories from other readers?...
ah, fond memories of mum and me queing at west's toy shop in the high street in the late 60's for the 'hot' toy for christmas: the chitty chitty bang bang car. she got me one too!also the gorgeous windows with the curved mirrors at caffyn's showroom up near the bingo hall and how you had to be ever so careful if you heard the bells of the fire engines turning out down those little streets near the castle.i'm a long way from home now (anglesea, 100km south west of melbourne on the great ocean road) but something must have stuck because now i'm the fire truck driver !
From Simon Hawkins, now living in Australia. Let's have some more; scroll down to find out how to send them or simply post a comment below....
