Peter York MBE; respec due...

Tonbridge blog has learnt that Peter York of the Tonbridge Civic Society is stepping down at the AGM in May after, get this, 33 years as Chairman of the society. That's almost man and boy! The position has deservedly earned him a great deal of respect among most of the thinking people in the town, his views are held in high regard amongst many of the senior players on the borough and county councils. He has the ear of some senior politicians, especially Sir John Stanley, the long standing Tonbridge and Malling MP. Indeed I believe his MBE came as a direct result of his long and devoted service. This pressure group will be in good hands if the next Chairman (Peter Charlton?) is even half as dedicated. Respec is definitely due!...
