John Stanley boasts that he's cheap!...

Sir John Stanley (he's our MP if you didn't know) was boasting in the press that he is one of the most cost effective MPs in the country. Why? because he is one of only a handful of MPs who costs the tax payer less than £100,000. He also gets paid around £80,000 (I think) as his MP's salary. So what is the £100k for then? Admin costs, accomodation costs? Taxis? Newspapers, research staff? I'm sure Sir John is doing a great job as he hand writes or personally dictates all his correspondance but I'm pretty sure that most hard working people in Tonbridge will be wondering how it is possible to blow a hundred grand on even expensive headed note paper and such like in a year. Are MPs really value for money anyway in their constituencies? What do they ever actually achieve on a local level?....
